Are you wondering which varieties will perform the best in your region?

We recently asked our Area Managers and Regional Sales Teams to name their favourite new product for 2025. Although it wasn’t easy to pick just a single variety, we asked them to choose one they feel will impact their customers the most. Read below to find out all about their recommendations for an outstanding growing season with their top picks!

NORTH AMERICA

Josh Kirschenbaum, Account Manager Vegetables, North America

This was a tough one, but I’m going to go with Bonsai Basil, our new Kitchen Minis intro. It ticks a lot of boxes…

• it tastes great

• it’s an attractive edible plant

• it can be grown outdoors in warmer months and indoors year round

• the leaves are small so you can just pull a sprig of it off the plant and sprinkle the leaves in your dish – no chopping required!

I will say Dianthus Dart™ is my favourite. It can be used for early spring colour as well as fall colour and can be used in many different size containers. It requires little to no PGR, so it is easy for the grower to grow. There are 5 colours with the Scarlet and Red White Picotee being my favourite two varieties. They make great combinations either mixing Dart colours together or mixing with other plants.

I would say I'm excited for the new Dianthus Dart series. It's a great compact series to add to your early spring offering.

I think my market will benefit from the additions to our Solarscape® Interspecific Impatiens line. The White Pearl, XL Lilac Spark and XL Pink Jewel are fantastic additions and really begin to round out the colour selection of this line.

I think my new favourite introduction for 2025 is Osteospermum Akila® Hawaii Sunset Mixture. Our Akila has really set the standard for seed propagated Osteos and it will work in all three of my regions (North America, Japan and Australia/New Zealand).

ASIA PACIFIC

My favourite product for the region is the expansion of the colours in the Solarscape Interspecific Impatiens series. Across the Asia region, Solarscape is the perfect variety for use in the government and private landscapes where the majority of our products are used. In Australia, with its high light levels, Solarscape presents an opportunity expand the use of seed impatiens into high light, full-sun positions.

My favourite new product for 2025 is Petchoa Caliburst™ Yellow. Yellow is a popular and auspicious colour in Southeast Asia, so the introduction of Caliburst Yellow was much anticipated. Not only that, trial results were also favourable in containers and in the landscape at both highland and lowland climates. Customers are excited to add this new colour to their petunia programs.

EUROPE & AFRICA

For our area you might get some reactions on products which are already introduced in the U.S., but will be introduced in the EU this year like Petchoa Caliburst Yellow and Impatiens Solarscape. My favourite for this year is the Dianthus Dart, it is a beautiful plant with a huge amount of flowers.

My new favourite product of 2025 is Petchoa Caliburst Yellow. My market in Northwestern Europe is dominated by vegetative cutting genetics. Caliburst Yellow provides solutions to young plant growers and finishing growers.

If I have to make a choice for just one (because I like a lot), it will be the Osteospermum Akila Hawaii Sunset Mixture. I think this addition to the series will boost sales. We have been chasing the vegetative market for a while, but with this ‘purple-eye’ catcher we will get there! Keep telling customers, no pinching needed. This is a big advantage compared to any vegetative series.

Wow, my favourite 2025 product has been confirmed as the most attractive colour of our 2024 European Spring Trials: Petchoa Caliburst Yellow! It really is the best of Petunia (large flower and spreading habit) and Calibrachoa (dense colour) in one. The ease of production includes flexibility of see. Caliburst can be grown cool, like our Easy Wave® Petunias and will flower early, from nine hours daylength. With this amazing bright colour, Caliburst Yellow can be mixed with any vegetative or seed-raised component and will brighten any basket or combo all summer long.

My favourite new one for 2025 is Osteospermum Akila Hawaii Sunset Mix …second to none:

1. Very easy, fast and no-pinch required and donkey-proof crop

2. Excellent branching plants that assure fast pot fill and great bench-to-garden performance

3. Drought tolerant once established

4. Mix of spectacular-colored, all-eyed flowers ...a feast for the eyes!

EURASIA

My favourite product for 2025 is Vinca Titan-ium™ Series. Vinca is suitable for the climate in my area and is in high demand. Titan-ium is highly resistant to disease, as well.

I see very good potential with New Spreading Petunia E3 Easy Wave® Rose Morn. Growers and consumers are really excited about this attractive colour.

My choice for 2025 is cut flower Celosia Sunday™ Bright Orange and Vinca Titan-ium.
