Trial Highlights: Raker-Roberta's

The trial results from Raker-Roberta’s in Litchfield, Mich., USA were impressive as ever this year. Here’s a brief highlight with comments and photos from my time there amongst the trials.

Strolling through their gardens, I couldn’t help but notice how incredibly uniform in habit the E3 Easy Wave Petunias appeared. Their amazing durability held up in both the wind and rain. They didn’t lodge open at all!

Another one with incredible show was the Echinacea ‘Cheyenne Spirit’. Did you know they are 3 years running for overwintering? This eclectic mix of colors never disappoints.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but this one says it all. Petunia Tidal Wave Red Velour was a showstopper compared to the rest of the petunias that had been planted at the same time. Without a doubt, the biggest petunia in the Tidal Wave series, its incredible spreading and mounding habit is undeniable.

And last but not least, something to chew on. The new Pot-a-peño Jalapeño Pepper ended up with dozens of peppers. So many in fact that they were enjoyed by the summer crew and Rakers staff! This spicy pepper plant is the perfect size for any small space garden and hanging baskets.
