Beacon Impatiens Presents Donation To OI Foundation
Claire Josephson former Marketing Manager
When our innovative breeding teams set out to create the next generation of garden impatiens, we wanted to make sure all our hard work made a difference not just in the world of horticulture, but in the world as well. So in the spirit of bringing colorful "light" back to shade gardens everywhere, PanAmerican Seed also wanted to shine the light on other lesser-known diseases and donate a portion of our global seed sales to worthy charities.
For our 2019-2020 season, we selected The OI Foundation — an organization that improves the quality of life for those living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (or brittle bone disease). On Sept. 8 we were very pleased to present a donation check in the amount of $55,943.00 (US) to Tony Benish who is a long-time volunteer and past board member of The OI Foundation.
Joining Tony in the gardens — among a fabulous landscape of thriving Beacon Impatiens — was PanAmerican Seed Global Director of Sales Sean Valk, as well as integral team members for the launch and promotion of Beacon, Lisa Lacy and Jerry Gorchels.
What a fantastic launch year for Beacon Impatiens! We look forward to sharing next year's worthy charity in the coming months.
