Cut Flower Trials in Santa Paula

This year’s Cut Flower Trials in Santa Paula, California, USA, was a successful event! It was a nice showing with more visitors coming to the trials than last year, which was the first time we organized a separate event specifically for Cut Flowers. We also hosted a presentation from Ball Seed, where products from other breeders were shown and featured.

The mood was positive, and the weather was great as usual in California. We had a wonderful display of most of our Cut Flower portfolio. The Snapdragon trial was especially interesting since we have a lot of new introductions on display, as well as Gomphrena, Gypsophilia and Marigolds. There were also large hoop tunnels featuring cut flower varieties such as Matthiola, Didiscus, Zinnias, Dianthus Amazon, Celosia Sundays, Asclepias, and non-PanAmerican Seed varieties of Ageratum and Matricaria.

Also new this year was the presentation of most of our assortment in different displays, such as being shown in vases. The vase display room featured Lisianthus, Celosia, Campanula Campana and cut flowers that were shipped from Ball Seed, which included Snapdragon Potomac, and non PanAmerican Seed varieties of Gerberas and Limonium. The vase displays offered visitors a variety of options and different ways to use our flowers.

We received lots of positive feedback on our new various Lisianthus series, which will be available for grower trials in 2026. New colours and flower forms means new serious competition for the established Lisianthus companies. New test hybrids and future introductions of Cut Marigolds, Gomphrena and Zinnia were shown and gained a lot of positive interest from attendees.
