HandPicked Vegetable Harvest Supports Local Food Bank

Each summer, the HandPicked Vegetables trials planted at our Elburn, Illinois, research field are evaluated, and then harvested and cleared by employee volunteers at the end of the season. We’re proud to share our annual harvest of tomatoes, peppers and eggplant with our local Northern Illinois Food Bank to support their fresh vegetable needs. In 2022, our one-day harvest event on Sept. 10 took in 5,443 lbs. of fresh vegetables!
