Louisiana State University Trials Results 2024
Louisiana State University (LSU) Plant Trials results are in, and PanAmerican Seed had several mentions! The trials are located in the southern region of the United States, near the Gulf of Mexico where weather conditions are mainly hot and humid.
According to Trials Manager Jeb Fields, “This year we evaluated about 250 varieties – some in ground in the sun, in ground in shade, as well as in containers. One thing that is unique about our trials is that we grow in landscape beds instead of rows, so we get a botanic garden feel while evaluating plants in their final form.”
Due to the tough environment this region usually faces, it is an honor to receive such recognition for withstanding the dry and hot climate. The growing season this year was no different with high heat and humid conditions, the plants also withstood the rain that arrived later in the season.
Check out these outstanding varieties that received numerous accolades from this year’s judges:
Vinca Titan-ium™ Interspecific
