As a part of the Sustainable Employment program* of Venhuizen, all employees were offered the chance to participate in the popular event.

The Dam tot Damloop is a charity event organized for hiking, running and biking. We are so proud that six of our employees participated in this large-scale hiking event. The Dam to Dam Walk in the Netherlands brings awareness to the Pink Ribbon organization, which is committed to breast cancer research and prevention.

The Pink Ribbon Dam tot Damllop Wandeltocht is perhaps the most enjoyable one-day walking event in The Netherlands. With loads of people, music and food stands along the road. Choirs with old-dutch songs and children with home-made cookies could be seen lining the streets to cheer on participants.

The start of the race in a downtown square

The morning started at the famous Dam-square in Amsterdam. The sun was out early and it was a promise for a beautiful day. And so it was! A sun-showered day made it an easy victory for the team. After walking 20km, they all made it together at the finish line. More than 16,000 hikers finished the walk at the Dam tot Dam Park in Zaandam.

*The Sustainable Employment program in Venhuizen offers opportunities for employees to develop themselves. Development of physical health will also affect mental health. This is something the program is very involved in with multiple activities like courses, walks and other activities.
