Top 6 New Varieties for 2022

Even with current travel restrictions and social distancing, we’re always happy to connect you with our products! Although this year we’ve seen challenges in spreading new information to the industry, PanAmerican Seed is finding innovative ways to communicate our product launches and introductions.

As a way to get the word out about our new varieties, PanAmerican Seed had the opportunity to present its 2022 additions at GPN magazine’s webinar event “New Varieties Week.”

Josh Kirschenbaum and I were presenters and we discussed new introductions, starting out with my “Top 6 Countdown: New for 2022,” where I challenged the audience to trial one of the six varieties in their own garden. We highlighted other resources, too, for sell-thru: All POP is available online, as well as pre-made social media posts and other ways to help growers promote these new varieties.

Top 6 New Varieties for 2022
Counting down, we have a wonderful assortment that will help growers through the selling season with these exciting introductions:

6. Kitchen Minis™ – a line of edible compact tomato and pepper plants meant to be grown indoors on a windowsill or outdoors on a patio tabletop. Lots of enthusiasm for this new way to sell vegetables!

5. ColorBloom™ Gerbera – tiny, compact habits with high-impact color for impulse buys at retail. Three bi-colors available. This meets rising trends in indoor living color.

4. Jolt™ Purple Interspecific Dianthus – electric eye-popping color. Flowers all through those hot summer days and does not set seed! We’re thrilled to expand this series.

3. Leucanthemum White Lion – finishes early and ready to sell for the early-Spring market. Complete your shasta daisy package!

2. Beacon® Impatiens – high resistance to disease. Bright, durable product for the shade. Combo possibilities are endless for retail. New Rose joins the series.

1. E3 Easy Wave™ Spreading Petunia Series – developed with growers in mind. Early, Efficient and the Evolution of Easy Wave! All seven colors can be produced in 10 hours daylength or less.
