Joint floriculture decision made regarding IPM 2021

PanAmerican Seed and fellow breeding, production and distribution companies will not be participating in the January 2021 event.

19 floriculture companies have reached a joint decision regarding their participation at the upcoming IPM in January 2021. PanAmerican Seed has co-signed the following statement sent to event organizers:

“In light of the recent developments concerning COVID-19, the ongoing risk for our customers and employees and the responsibility that we see as our duty to help stop the spread of the virus, we have decided not to take part in IPM 2021.”

This was a difficult decision, as we have been longtime participants of this important industry event. But based on the current knowledge about COVID-19 and the constantly changing strict international regulations and restrictions, we and the companies listed below agreed to not risk further exposure for customers and staff.

Through various collaborations within the floriculture sector, the industry has come through this pandemic together. This joint decision solidifies the sector’s commitment to the elimination of the virus, rather than participating in an international trade show increasing the risk of further contamination.

Looking forward, PanAmerican Seed plans to participate in IPM again in 2022.
