American Oak Marks the Start of New Garden Construction at PanAmerican Seed, Hem, NL

The oak tree is significant as it stands for strength, sustainability and longevity.

HEM, THE NETHERLANDS, November 4, 2025: The planting of a beautiful American oak tree marked the official start of the new garden construction today. Planting this tree signifies the beginning of a green and inspiring outdoor space, as well as commencement of the final phase of the restructuring project at Elbaweg 35, Hem.

A large group of employees stand outside next to their newly planted oak tree. The tree is planted using a large piece of landscape equipment. A man is standing on the tree root ball as another guides it into place.

The ceremony was carried out by the garden planners: Tim Bouwman, Swaas Dekker, and General Manager Ruud Brinkkemper. Susannah Ball, owner of Ball Horticultural Company, ceremonially planted the tree in the presence of the leadership team from the Ball Horticultural Group. Their involvement highlighted the importance of the garden as a place that not only offers beauty and tranquility, but also serves a strategic role in providing a tangible experience for sales of our beautiful products.

The choice of a mature American oak was deliberate: A tree that stands for strength, sustainability and longevity. Like the project itself, which was designed with care and vision, this tree is a lasting symbol of growth and forward-thinking.

The new garden will be a place where nature, peace and connection come together. With attention to biodiversity and climate resilience, it will be a valuable addition to the surroundings and an invitation for employees and visitors to find inspiration and enjoy the greenery.

The garden construction will begin in the coming months and marks the final step in the transformation that prepares the location for future innovation.
