I'm so pleased to share that the NEW Pepper Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry is a National Garden Bureau 2022 Green Thumb Award Winner!

Described as “a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds,” this sweet pepper’s green fruit has a unique white stripe that changes to orange-green, and then to chocolate and cherry-red when mature. Its sweet flavor and crisp texture make it perfect for fresh eating at any stage of ripeness. It can be grown both in containers or in-ground, with or without the support of a trellis. Also, the variegated foliage of this mini bell pepper plant will certainly stand out among all other vegetables in the garden.

The Green Thumb Award is an annual competition for plants and products that are innovative and unique that bring a new element to the garden. Winning varieties are reviewed and voted on by National Garden Bureau members for qualities that will make the garden experience even better. Criteria includes uniqueness, technological innovation, ability to solve a gardening problem or provide a gardening opportunity, and potential appeal to gardeners. Awards are sponsored by the NGB, a nonprofit organization in the United States that exists to educate and inspire home gardeners.

As a Green Thumb Award winner, Pepper Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry will have extra exposure at the NGB website, and all season long through their consumer social channels and outreach. Be sure to add this star to your vegetable program!
