Impatiens Beacon® Formula Mixture is a new, award-winning variety that has been recognized by the University of Georgia for its performance and appeal. It is an honor to be named a “Classic City Award” winner and one of the very best plants in the trial gardens for 2021.

This distinction commends PanAmerican Seed’s ability to offer high resistance to Impatiens downy mildew. There was a time when impatiens were not available due to myriad pathogen issues. The judges were quite impressed with how much their impatiens bed was “brimming with great color.”

Accolades were also given for the different shades of Coral, Bright Red, Rose, White and Violet Shades that complemented the deep green foliage. “All of our shaded woodland backyards could use a few plants from this collection,” the UGA judges commented in their award announcement. They also said plants maintained uniformity while filling the space nicely and rounding out the edges of the bed.

This year, Impatiens Beacon Formula Mixture joins PanAmerican Seed’s UGA Plant of Distinction recipient Interspecific Dianthus Jolt™ Purple.

Be sure to share these regional trial winners with your customers as they plan next year's programs. Top-performaing plants are always buzz-worthy.
